Mark Godwin & Shauna Marble
Heil Denver! This couple has recently placed at several national events including Camp Hollywood/The National Jitterbug Championships, but you may also recognize them by the large amounts of terrible facebook pictures available from lindy hop events, or by their visible excitement to be back at their #1 favorite 2011 event, where Shauna placed 2nd in the same gender Strictly, and the couple took 3rd in the Strictly Lindy.

Shauna, in addition to her recenteighth 1st place Jack and Jill win this year, has over 13 years experience teaching Tap, Swing, and other dance forms. She started Lindy Hopping in 1995, when the California Neo Swing revival hit, and is one of the original Sacramento Lindy Hoppers. She also runs Prairie Playhouse, a Musical Theater Company in NE Denver, where she directs several large musicals per year. As a performer she is an Ellie-Nominated Actress and winner of many director awards. She is also mother of 2 upcoming swing dancers, who made 8 judges cry with their Junior Competition piece at ILHC this year (because tiny people doingswivels and boogie backs is worth crying over).

Mark is proud to have been a member of World-Champion Denver Lindy Hop teams 23Skidoo and Woodside Jumpers, and was most recently featured in the giant 100+ lindy hop flash-mob at the Denver International Airport, and in a routine last year with the Denver Bronco's Cheerleaders.

Mark & Shauna (aka 'Shark') have a World Championship title dancing for the Woodside Jumpers, coach over 20 couples weekly on their home-teams Denver Swing Project (DSP) and Jump, Jive, and Teens (their youth performance lindy hop team), and teach several times a week in and around the Denver area. As nationally-known instructors they have taught at Lindy on the Rocks, Lindy Diversion, Nevermore Jazz Ball, Mile High Blues, Aggie Stomp, and will join the teaching staff at Pirate Swing the weekend after Heartland. They frequently coach and choreograph for competitive teams and couples, and this year helped coach Utah State's team to a first place against 12 teams at Swing Battle.

Mark and Shauna, as social dancers, are most known for their playfulness and musicality. As competitors they bring a unique style, aerials and tricks, and solid technique accompanied by huge swing-outs. As instructors their students appreciate their ability to bring out each student's own style and hidden potential. Their students value from their approachability, detailed instruction, and ease at breaking down difficult concepts into tangible checklist items for any dance level. In class you can expect to laugh, empathize, and come out with better tools to becoming a better dancer. www.markandshaunaswing.com
