About Jenna Stworzyjanek and James Pustejovsky

Together, Jenna and James form a dynamic duo with unpronounceable last names. As a teaching couple, they focus on technique, creativity, and ways to make your dancing fun and efficient. Their humorous and light hearted approach to class makes it easy to learn from them. Together, they have taught several weekly classes and workshops including 2 choreography classes at Big City Swing, which they are insanely proud of. Jenna and James also perform together on a regular basis with the Big City Swing Performance Troupe and have had danced both on stage on on screen.

Jenna Stworzyjanek

Jenna has been dancing for most of her life. In 2003, she discovered Lindy Hop and quickly fell in love. She has danced and taught with Big Time Swing, the University of Chicago, and at several workshops. In 2005, she became a regular instructor at Big City Swing, Chicago's premiere Lindy Hop and Swing studio. Here, she has developed a reputation for her insight, patience, and ability to instill confidence in her students. She also performs with and helps train the performance troupe at Big City Swing and has had the opportunity to perform all over the Midwest. In addition, she has founded The Tacky Annies, an all girls vintage dance troupe, who specialize in charleston, vernacular jazz, and blues dancing.

As a competitor, Jenna has had the opportunity to compete across the midwest and has earned several titles and awards. Her most recent accomplishments include 1st place in both the Strictly and Advanced Jack and Jill and 3rd place in the Solo Charleston at the LoneStar Dance Championships, 1st Place in the Open Jack and Jill at Rocky Mountain Balboa Blowout, and 2nd Place in the Harvest Moon Competition.

Jenna loves joyful dancing and hopes to share some of that exuberance with her students!

James Pustejovsky

James got his first taste of swing almost a decade ago, and has been dancing ever since, stopping only to eat and occasionally change his socks. Since being introduced to the joys of social dancing, he has studied lindy hop, jazz, charleston, balboa, and blues dancing with world-renowned instructors, danced with partners old and young, and sweated through many t-shirts while practicing with his friends. As a teacher, he is known for encouraging students to learn by doing, dancing, and imitating instead of just talking about it. Recent teaching credits include workshops at Jumptown (Madison, WI), UIUC (Urbana, IL), and the Galaxie (Chicago, IL). He teaches and performs with Jenna and the crew from Big City Swing in Chicago, and with his wife, Mary.
